UAE Embassy Canada Attestation

Before you can use foreign documents in the UAE, they have to be attested by the UAE Embassy in Ottawa. This process is sometimes called legalization – or, in some countries, apostille. In the UAE, the term ‘document attestation’ is used.

Similarly, UAE documents to be used in Canada have to be attested by the UAE MoFAIC.

How do I get UAE Embassy legalization

The UAE Embassy can only attest documents that are authenticated by Global Affairs Canada. Documents must be authenticated separately, and they must be returned to you, not the UAE Embassy. This is to prevent documents from being lost in the mail, and for you to confirm that Global Affairs Canada has processed your documents.

You can learn more about the process of attestation in this helpful guide.

Below, you can find tables with valuable information on the UAE attestation procedure, with details on the process, costs (including UAE certificate attestation fees), and timelines for legalizing the following documents:

  • Certificates (personal documents)
  • Commercial documents
  • Invoices

To attest your documents outside the UAE, you must:

  1. Register on the MoFAIC website or through the Smart Mobile App, UAE MOFAIC
  2. Apply
  3. Pay the Fee
  4. You will then receive an SMS confirming successful application
  5. Visit the UAE Embassy Ontario to attest documents

UAE attestation FAQs

Attestation is a process that confirms the validity of your documents. This is a requirement if you’re planning to move to UAE to work, study, or to do business.

Attestation proves that you are a genuine person or company that is visiting the UAE with good intentions, since your documents are proven to be authentic.

You don’t have to have the attested documents when applying for a job, but you will need them when you are hired. Only low-level unskilled jobs don’t need to attest educational certificates to work in the UAE.

Going to the UAE without attesting your documents will lead to unnecessary delays in processing your work visa. This can lead you to lose a job opportunity.

It’s thus better to have all your documents prepared before you leave for the UAE.

Documents can be attested at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Ottawa. You can mail in the documents. The Embassy only accepts online payment.

Follow our helpful guide titled “How do I get UAE Embassy legalization” for all the information required.

If you need more help, at Document Authentication Canada we work closely with the UAE Embassy in Canada to facilitate the attestation process. Get in touch with our expert team on 1-855-700-5840 for assistance.

To get a UAE visa, you’ll need to attest your personal and educational documents. This means you need a degree attestation for UAE.

The documents related to your education must be first authenticated by Global Affairs Canada. Then, the documents must be certified by the UAE Embassy and also Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Some jobs also require that your documents be verified by the UAE’s Ministry of Education.

The first step is to get your Canadian documents authenticated by Global Affairs Canada. However, Invoices, Certificates of Origins, Packing Lists, and other documents related to the invoice must be authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce or Board of Trade in Canada.

After this process of authentication, you can send the documents for UAE Embassy legalization by mail. Payment must be made online before sending them, and you will receive your documents back by mail. Our helpful guide above details how to pay, where to mail the documents, how to mail them, and how long it will take for the documents to be processed.

Your documents will then be recognised in the UAE.

It takes a minimum of 3 – 5 business days for the UAE Embassy to process any document.

This excludes the time it takes to get your documents authenticated by Global Affairs Canada. Authentication is a first step in every attestation process.
